The Western Fells

March 2008 and I have completed this set of fells.. finally! May I encourage anyone that has the ability to walk in winter to do the Rememberence Day Walk in November. Normally I am not into crowded fell tops, but 700 people all on a summit, at the same time is amazing. The Rememberance Day meeting up there is something I plan to do each year now no matter what the weather.
I failed to make one walk last year; High Stile - Red Pike, from Buttermere. I would warn against walking along the bottom of this range from Buttermere with children, we tried it in Spring time, and it was very wet, very muddy - not fun at all! I have since done High Stile and Haystacks with my good friend Peter, but it was quite hard going.
April 2007 finally saw me make my accent of Pillar.. totally awesome walk.. wish in a way that I had just stayed up there all day, but I was running out of fluids and it was very hot.
