The Far Eastern Fells

Although this set of fells are actually the nearest to where I live, they have taken some time to finish. I ended up doing a 17 mile hike around the Kentmere Horseshoe, adding 3 extra fell tops in order to save me time another day.
High Street also brings a smile to my face as I think of the main road in a town centre full of people busily going about their business... be on this fell top in the middle of summer, and the shops may be missing, but the people won't be! One can get to this fell from every direction and the number of other fells you can see from here is amazing.
This is the largest group of fells and it would take pages to describe them all, but summit views I really loved: Mardale Ill Bell looking towards Haweswater, Ill Bell looking in about any direction, The Knott looking towards the Nabb and Kidsty Pike looking down.. wow factor in all of them... and there are many more. Don't forget to stick to the paths if you visit The Nabb, this is a deer reserve and as such none of us should even be on this land!
This is in fact the kids and I enjoying our lunch on High Street during one of our first ever walks in Jan of 2005!
