The Central Fells

The Central fells have a cluster of summits that must be the most recognisable in the whole of the Lake District, The Langdale Pikes. It took me four goes to finally bag these amazing hills, having tried in bad weather it's not something I would recommend. Harrison Stickle, Pavey Ark, Loft Crag and Pike Of Stickle may not be the highest in the Lakes, not by a long way, but there are few places that can give a better view on a clear day.
This group also happens to be where we really started our walking, on a really small hill called Walla Crag, but yet again, don't let it's size put you off - the view of Derwent Water is superb!
This whole group of fells is relatively small in height compared to the rest, High Raise is only 2500ft, but it should not be over looked, there are some wonderful walks and as you can see, some rather heart stopping climbs.
