With the odd bank of cloud still about things started to brighten up a little.
Our accent of Bowfell looking back to Ore gap and the path up to Esk Pike.

The following two photo's were taken about 30 seconds apart. This is our accent of Bowfell.

.. and what do you know.. there it is.. packed out like the middle of a town center.

Now where might this be??? Click the picture for a VERY large one...

Ok NOTE: when you walk to Bowfell from Ore gap you will come to a final rocky part,
you can see it in the pick three up from this one. The path (such as it is) goes straight up the rock but,
on the flat ridge you see to the left of the summit you need to walk towards the edge.
This is what you get...
If you have memory map look for Bowfell Buttress, the view point is near the B or Buttress.

and it's a long ways down... he he he

But ohh man the views...

Onwards though.. Bowfell summit becons

and our first real view of 'the great slab'.
How ever many times you see this on TV, or other peoples web sites.. nothing can prepare you for its size..
To me it looks like some giant many moons ago had a real paddy and took a giant sized knife to the hill side
and simply sliced a bit off...

Pike O Blisco to the right sticking up.. and Windermere in the far distance.

There had to be well over 200 people on top of the fell today, not really my thing at all..

I did say I took a lot of pictures of this... didn't I??? Pike of Stickle acording to the map, O' to AW though.
He called this top 'imposing and impressive'.. can't really argue can you...??

Harrison Stickle from Bowfell's summit.. don't look so busy there though.

Scafell Pike hidden in the mist

The most amazing view of Broad Stand at the foot of Mickledore.

If you haven't been here this must look so dull. In the center of this picture, out of sight is Foxes tarn...
going diagonally down left to right in the gulley that leads to it.
I've done this walk on the way to Scafell's summit and it is awesome!

From Bowfell's summit again, looking back to Esk Pike in the foreground
with my favourite place in the lakes behind it,
Great End!

Kim on top of the huge rock on Bowfells top

I can see you.... The highest people in England

Well done girls, 2960ft asl, 9th highest Wainwright fell

Looking down to 'three tarns'

The girls posing on 'the great slab'

Now Kim, if you are going to pull funny faces....

we all want to see..

Bowfell Buttress from the slab

Looking down into the Mickleden valley...

and down into the Langdale Valley.. and you remember that Scooter rally.. well its getting busy...

Ohh man how I love this camera..

I promise no more pics of this...

Relaxing on the esge of the great slab

Pike of Blisco

Looking back up to Bowfells summit

Hey mum we can see Windermere from here...

Lowwood hotel as seen on all good maps.. and through big camera lens's

Lots of these about too

Hey up, thats close up for ya..

The path back down to the three tarns is as the kids put it, 'well dodgy'
Care needs to be taken at all times.

We are debating as to wether Kez is yawning, about to sneeze or worse still,
belching... answer on a postcard too.....

finally at the three tarns and Jay striaght in...

A final look at Scafell Pike
