Lingmoor Fell

All three of my Children walked with me today and this was the second of two great walks,
the first had been up Holme Fell and Black Crag which you can read about here.
Only Kerenza was enthusiastic about walking again, and although it was a real slog up the first
part of this walk, the views made up for it in the end.

The real slog - had this been our first walk of the day no problems.. but it wasn't..

You do gain height quickly though, and Blea Tarn looked very inviting from up here

If you have looked at the 'About Us' page of the web site you will know all about this... if not ..
This little part of the Lake District is why we all walk! In the far distance from left to right you have Crinkle Crags, Bow fell is a little left of center, (the band is the ridge leading up to it) and to the very far right we have Pike Of Stickle. In the foreground to the right is the bottom of Side Pike, you can see the road cutting through the valley, and then up to the right we have the bottom of Pike Of Blisco. When we first got the car we came from Langdale up this road and parked at the cattle grid (see the OS map). Kimi and I started to climb up P.of B., we didnt get very far, maybe only just up to where it goes out of shot. It was high enough to give us the most amazing views. and we were hooked!

Side Pike and those Langdale Pikes again...

This had been very hard going for the kids and I think there were kinda chuffed to have made it

Oh no not again... our route back to the cattle grid where we had arranged to meet mum.

Down there, where the wall seem to cut across the road is the cattle grid. It's a totally
uninspiring place I dare say to most people.. weird how it means so much to me.

Side Pike from our decent.. we missed out walking right up to it..
