Lingmell 800m 2,624ft - Scafell
Pike 978m 3,210ft - Scafell 964m 3,162ft
I have split this walk up into 2pages because I have so many
photos,
and I really wanted to post as many of them as I could.
Our walk started from the NT camp site in Wasdale, and was literally out the back of the camp site, and up the hill.

From the start of the walk, to the left Yewbarrow, centre is Looking Stead, and to the right Kirk Fell.

Had
Peter had the camera you would have seen my face very much the same.
This is one VERY steep hill from the off, and not for the faint hearted.

Although we could see the top of the ridge it did seem to be a very long way.

I seem to have grown rather long legs.

Get
used to seeing this, Wast Water .. I ermm took a few like this...
Notice the clouds coming in, well in the space of 30 minutes they really came
in,
and the temperature dropped by at least 10 deg.

Looking Stead across to Pillar and onto Red Pike.
Scafell, click the image for a very large one.

As you see, we had added several layers of clothing within about a 30 minute period as the temp dropped

This would be our ascent route upto Scafell Pike.

2,624ft of hard graft, but it's worth it.. The summit of Lingmell

Centre of
picture is Styhead Tarn, to the left the route up Great Gable.
Beyond and to the right Seathwaite Fell,
and to the right of the tarn you can see the path up to Sprinkling Tarn and
to Esk Hause.

Similar to above, but more of Great End to the right.

and to the left, Great Gable

One more to add to the collection of A.W.'s

Remember
this picture when you see us 4 hours later on Scafell's Summit....
and this is why you need to come prepared if you walk in the Lakes.

Looking down from close to the summit, Piers Gill.

We start our ascent of Scafell Pike, with Great End behind us.
For some reason I took very few pictures of us walking up this part.. sorry...

Peter's 'Everest' as he calls it.. The huge round turret at the top of Scafell Pike 978m 3,210ft

I hated the first picture
I got of me on here, much prefer this one...
going to be a while I think before I am back again

These are
us posing..
we are not..
repeat not holding on for dear life trying not to fall over...
honest...
From Scafell
Pike the view across to Broad Stand, Symonds Knott and Scafell
