Raven Crag - High Rigg - Sale Fell - Ling Fell

We wanted to do as many of the smaller fells as we could in one day,
but I never imagined that my 2 youngest kids would manage to do all 4 fells.
It had dawned on me early on that I had forgotten to put in my 512 memory card
for the digi camera, which meant I tried not to take too many pics

First walk was up Raven Crag

Across Thirlmere through the thick woods

This was a lot steeper than it looks..

Across to Clough Head and Calfhow Pike

Raven Crags summit. .. really need to look at getting a new camera.. far too many fuzzy ones

Great views down to Thirlmere

again looking back to the summit from off the edge.

Then back in the car, up the road, and off up High Rigg

Lonscale fell and Skiddaw behind the kids on High Rigg's Summit

From the summit, Clough Head behind.

Blencathra behind the 3 kids

The pink dot on the map shows where this pic was taken from.

We then went back to Castlerigg Farm Camp Site to get changed and get some food.
Then off up the A66 towards Cockermouth and our next walk - Sale Fell

Quite steep, but easy walking - great for an after tea jaunt.

Sale Fell Summit - Skiddaw Dodd on the right with the Ullock pike - Longside ridge center of pic.

My kids may not get to go on many walks, but they are really loving it.
We had arranged to meet Odette in the car somewhere around Brumston Bridge, and so we headed off in that direction.
She was exactly where we needed her to be and from there we went off to the top of the hill and onto the start of our final walk

Ling Fell

Kimberley decided she had no energy left to do this one.. teenages for ya..
this is the two youngest running towards the summit of their FOURTH Wainwright of the day.. fancy..

Ling Mell's summit with Sale Fell behind.

My two youngest had climbed 2874 ft during the day, and walked 6 miles,
but over four walks it must have seemed like a lot further.

Please do email us if you have any comments. Chris
