Base Brown – Green Gable – Great
Gable
Brandreth – Grey Knotts

Summit number two of the
day, Green Gable, with Great Gable behind.

Looking towards Haystacks
and High Crag

I wish this wasn't so hazy,
this is Pillar, possibly my next really big horseshoe.

The start of our ascent
of Great Gable.

A close up of Kerenza looking
down on Styhead Tarn

I've never walked up to
the Gables using this route,
but it does look like a long hard slog...

This is the path down off
Green Gable

The Fell and Rock Climbing
Clubs Memorial.

Wastewater behind Kerenza on Summit number three, Great Gable.

Kirk Fell behind, and Pillar
behind that.

Jay found sitting here cooler than being in the dip as he caught the breeze.
Behind him is the Scafell range.

On our decent of Great
Gable I heard the sound before I saw it, but then came the RAF helicopter.
It flew over Green Gable and on towards the Scafell range.

I should have mentioned
that up to when we got to Base Browns summit we hadn't met a single person...
it got busy though very quickly

Base Brown to the right
of picture, and a little left of center is the path
leading up from Sour Milk Gill

Looking down to Gillercomb
Head. Jay hadn't had any chance to cool down for quite some time.
When I saw the three small tarns below I had a feeling I knew what would happen
when we got there.
